I am probably making art. Although I did quite some work in this field of the arts I still doubt my
qualification. Maybe I am just a trickster and I should rather do something ‘normal’. There are lots of
things I am or could be besides being an artist. Is that a bad thing?
Maybe I can just take a regular job and be unhappy but be able to pay a therapy. But then I look to my
CV and I think WAIT A MINUTE BITCH I AM GOOD, let’s try again and again. Let’s fake it, let’s fake the
CV, the photo, the project, fake fake fake fake fake fake fake fake say fake until it turns into FAITH, fake
fake fake fake fake fake fake fake FAKE IT ALL UNTIL IT FITS.

Artist must be dissatisfied to be able to open the dialogue. This dissatisfaction with art granting
system is productive enough.

Someone can find a way how to hack the granting system, this is a very good artistic practice.
Someone can just leave the art social bubble for being the farmer, because it is less stressful in some
way, and that is okay too. Maybe the farmers will be celebrated as the most progressive artists of our
age in the future.

UNIQUENESS (max. 60 words)
–   I don’t feel that I fail in the institutional system so much yet
–   no favoritism
–   no need for big bureaucracy
–   it is a big deal what I do. It just is!

I won once a Best Actress nomination and I graduated with honor. (Or were they lying to me?)

I did not apply for any support of my project.

There should not be this tendency of disappearing priority of free expression and openness in
art-fundraising.

Usefulness? How many people are questioning them if they are useful for society? What is actually
useful? And who can say it? About what?

Create your own grants (selling lemonade, working during summer, working as freelancer),
       residencies, festivals…
Find clothes that inspire you
Put them on
Live inside them
Hack the system

Eat food you like
If nothing of that works
Go IMMEDIATELY to the floor
Check if you are breathing
Cry
Scream
Say bad word to the universe

Invest in a therapy (it’s really important to keep the mind health)
And then – try again.

How many people have to see / like the piece so it would make sense? 1? 30? 200? More? How much

What it really brings to society? Well, it is art. What art brings to society??

OBSTACLES IN IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT (max. 50 words)
I feel pressured to think that the truth is outside of ourselves.

PROJECT RISKS (max. 50 words)
–  Getting easily distracted by production work that needs to be done besides the ‘actual’
    artistic practice. There’s just often so much to take care of and to think of in the independent
    arts that organizing art may overweight making art.
–  Very little spaces where artists can just really work. Most of the times they are mainly busy
    just keeping the machine running.
–  The risk of becoming just a production machine spreading the projects and applications to
    every site.
–  I am very afraid that I will not be able to finance myself.
–  I feel like I am in a floating space right now. Not sure in which direction to go because all
    options seem to be really problematic.

SUSTAINABILITY (max. 200 words)
Maybe I’m older now and maybe I’m getting better and maybe when my back get curved and all my
hair get white I will be approved in the casting of a movie because is not so easy to find old actresses.

It is serious, because it’s my life and my life is the first think I’ll think about when it comes to art.
